China's deadly gift
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.3 года назад
China’s “largesse” is nothing if not a second, more deadly pandemic of propaganda and fake goods in Huawei-emblazoned boxes. The masks its state-supported companies are selling - not donating - don’t protect the doctors and its test kits produce false results. From Spain to Italy, from the Czech Republic to Turkey to the Netherlands, governments are outraged and throwing out the supplies they bo...

The Festival of Britain was a national exhibition and fair that reached millions of visitors throughout the United Kingdom in the summer of 1951. Historian Kenneth O. Morgan says the Festival was a "triumphant success". People flocked to the South Bank site, to wander around the Dome of Discovery, gaze at the Skylon, and generally enjoy a festival of national celebration. Up and down the land, ...

The Wars of the Roses were a series of English civil wars for control of the throne of England fought between supporters of two rival cadet branches of the royal House of Plantagenet: the House of Lancaster, represented by a red rose, and the House of York, represented by a white rose. Eventually, the wars eliminated the male lines of both families. The conflict lasted through many sporadic epi...

Brilliant documentary based on a limited amount of archive footage of Beecham himself conducting and speaking. Pity there are no captions or credits naming the participants, among whom I saw Eugene Cruft, Jack Brymer, Lee Goossens, Leopold Stokowski, Geraint Evans, George Brownfoot, Eva Turner (I think), Norman Del Mar . . . and others I don't recognize. The 'how very singular' story at c.19'50" was nothing to do with a flautist: it was during WW2 when the BBC Orchestra was at Bedford and its organist was George Thalben-Ball. 'That man's name is Ball?' 'Yes, Sir Thomas.' 'How very singular.' I'd love to know the origins of this programme. Thanks for posting.
The Lightning is one sick plane, the best interceptor we had.
Do not play in excess to the audience. We aren’t worth it I must say.
Wish Me Luck as you Wave Me Goodbye is going to be my funeral song!
He'd have been 81 if he'd lived 😊
A gentle man from a more gentle age.
I was lucky enough to be in panto with Harry in Swansea early 50’s

Gran actor, subestimado.
BRITISH ACTOR NOT UK ACTIR!!
The greatest. Simply the greatest. RIP
I recall a Monday night in late Aug 1980, I was 14. The death of Yootha was on page 1 of The Herald, here in Melbourne. Unbelievable. George and Mildred was at its peak when she died. If I recall, not long prior to this, Brian Murphy had announced that he planned to not make more George and Mildred episodes, on account of negativity with the henpecked image of George's character. Is my memory right on this?
His documentaries were "elitist". That's why they're still watchable and informative today. Other than the crap that is churned out these days.
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC
His wifes were all mooses 😂😂😂 💩 lovers were much better 😂😂😂😅
its a shame who ever bought his lonsdale belts did not donate them back to his family or all his so called friends who speake so dearly of him on this clip of his life did not chip in to buy them & give them back to his family
Think Frank is here at his best, just going no script just make it up as he goes along 😂 should been more this.
Loved Arthur Askey. He was the same off stage as he was on stage.
18:18 even Big Billy
I thought this series was funny when it first appeared....
Both Henry Cooper And Joe Frazier Were Known For Their Vicious Left Hooks. But With Big Differences: Frazier's Hook Was A Looping Punch, That Could Knock You Out! But Cooper's Hook Was A Snapping Punch, That Could Knock Your Head Off! 🥊
Stayed there in the 80’s when it was owned by the post office
She's probably my favorite actress of all time, although Joan Crawford and Barbara Stanwyck are also there. Bette was a spunky woman. I would have loved to have met her. Much more humble than she's given credit for.
Cooper won that fight hands down. Cooper had a great retirement, Bugner was a lousy fighter and had a crap career!
Peçt for this song played by the Kenya Army Band since I joined
So lovely to find this documentary. Trully beautiful.
He made everybody happy
John Scott is exceptional human being who listens.Thank you for your company. Bless

Once a Sapper Always a Sapper, til I go to the Sqn bar.
I’ve seen you stuffing sandwiches with mutton instead of lamb on a Tuesday!’ Who do you think you are, Billy the Kid from Agony Wick? Where’s me washboard? How queer.
Thanks George for posting this ,any more this type would be appreciated…….. The presenter nearly died while filming this series as the hotel lift broke free and he went down 19 floors before emergency brakes worked Also while in the chamber he was talking about the curse when the place went black total shut down…… I know as I was there………..stories I could tell about that and music tours…..the last 30 yrs…….
He made a porter feel like a KING. Says it all what a man.
Born to be ❤️❤️❤️ breaker👻👻👻
He was much better from Heston
Messala was real good💪👍

Wonderfully politically incorrect.
Alternative title: Frank commanding people to turn off their TV and mentioning the breakfast show at 6am on Channel M for and an whole hour.
People seem to think the actor has the same personality as the character. They are actors!
Don’t forget Alan Bates, Richard Harris, Oliver Reed and Tom Courtney
If this was produced today, I'd pay their stupid and racist fee. But no; screw them.
Yes he was adorable in here gorgeous eyes very handsome rest in peace Omagh Sheriff
